Hard Rock Hotel Macau opens its doors in June as part of City Of Dreams, an integrated entertainment resort that will be the "must experience" destination in Macau. Recently, the hotel received its very first Hard Rock memorabilia donation, when Mr. Jacky Cheung Hok-yau, one of China's biggest music superstars, donated items from two of his world tours.
Mr. Cheung said he was particularly honored to be the first Chinese Superstar to be featured in the Hard Rock Memorabilia Collection. "Being a part of Hard Rock's renowned memorabilia is a significant recognition of an artist's achievement," he said. "This honor does not belong just to myself. It is also a recognition of the dedication and talents of all Chinese artists around the world."
The Jacky Cheung collection will feature unique items representing his outstanding achievements, including a guitar that accompanied the star during the Jacky 1999 Live In Concert World Tour. Also featured will be two sequined outfits and a scarf woven with metal chains that Mr. Cheung wore during The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007-2008, which toured 58 cities around the world for 12 months with over 105 shows, attracting more than 2 million fans.
The launch of the Jacky Cheung Hard Rock Memorabilia Collection also marks the first joint charitable action as Mr. Cheung, City of Dreams and Hard Rock International will together donate HK$600,000 to the Children's Cancer Foundation & ORBIS Macau.
In addition to Mr. Cheung's memorabilia, Hard Rock Hotel Macau received more amazing donations from some of Asia's biggest music stars. BoA Kwon, Dick Lee, New Pants, Sober, Rebuilding The Rights Of Statues, Yongmei Hu, and Asanee-Wasan have all donated memorabilia to Hard Rock's ever-growing collection. From the guitars donated by Beijing indie bands Rebuilding The Rights Of Robots and Sober to the dresses donated by world-renowned concert pianist Yongmei Hu, Hard Rock Hotel Macau's memorabilia displays are one-of-a-kind.
